Paint My Lip PURPLE: Jordana "Fiesta" Lippie

I never thought I'd be the type to follow trends especially when it comes to a fashion item such as lipstick. Dark lip colours especially purple are very much in vogue this season, and I caught the bug. Since then, I've been patiently wishing for a dark purple lip shade, and a not too pricey one as well. The others I know like Mac's Rebel happen to be quite pricey here in Lagos, Nigeria. My wish was granted when I went make-up shopping and sighted this beauty in purple starring at me...Jordana's Fiesta Lipstick

Have A Laugh Wednesday

The month of October is gradually coming to a close in two days.Quite an eventful month for most Nigerians. From her 54th Independence, Eid-el-fitri etc. One of the things I wont forget in a hurry are the display pictures I saw all month through, courtesy various social media sites. I must admit Nigerians have great sense of humor, amid what we go through daily, we still try to enjoy ourselves and make the best of it.  I'd like to share my Top 10 Hilarious Display Pictures of this month (October).... From 10 to 1. Disclaimer: This is not intended to insult or condemn anyone, tribe, name etc. Its just having a laugh. Don't take it personally. Thank you.

Venting Tuesday: Respect Ko, Respect Ni.....Mschew!!!

Since when did marriage become a criterion to weigh how one should be respected? Why are women always against themselves? Is being respected a birthright or should be earned? One of the things I find interesting about being a Nigerian lady is that we are respectful or perhaps seem to be.  The average Nigerian female is so keen about respect that even among her committee of friends, she expects that someone she's probably three years older than must refer to her as 'Aunty' or 'Sister' and never call her by her first name. I personally think this is very archaic. I once had a girl tell me I ought to respect her because we are not on the same level any longer now she's married and has a child. To think this is someone I knew before she acquired marital status and became a mother.

How Long, Is Too Long?

I got a lot of  feedback  concerning my previous post on standards ; one very interesting question in one of the mails asked how long a relationship should last before it tolls the marriage road. This question is not alien to many of us especially those in committed, marriage-bound relationships. It has been asked over and over again and I’m not sure if it will stop coming up in several discussions every now and then; this is because people are starting relationships per second while some are still growing. It’s quite surprising that this thought pattern is often times linked to the ladies, especially when they hit their late twenties or early thirties. It becomes a topic among single sisters when they get to attend weddings almost every Saturday or have to congratulate a friend who just got engaged.  Dele said “I wonder why my girlfriend expects me propose to her now because all her friends are getting married or getting engaged already.I think its when we are both prepar

Game or Simply Lame

I was having one of my chitchat moments with a close friend and the topic 'Standards' was raised. It was then I realized that many dating couples have too high standards they expect of each other thus many single people or broken marriages. Everyone has standards, they keeps us motivated to do our best, but often times these standards cause undue stress. Some often impose their standards on their loved ones; this is a new source of stress and frustration for partners who feel they cannot meet these expectations. I'm not saying standards are not good or unhealthy in relationship, I only think it shouldn't determine how much or how far the relationship should go. It also shouldn't be a criterium to determine if the relationship will lead to marriage but then again who is to blame? The partner with unattainable standards or the one who isn't truthful to him or herself and believes these standards can be reached.

For The Love of Jordana (True Red and Holiday Red)

I'm writing on something a bit different today, and like my blog description says "This, that and so much more". So every now and then I'll be dropping some beauty product reviews, food recipes and and travelogue.  This is my first, so after you've read, tell me what you think. I've been itching to review this product a long time ago but I wasn't convinced....yet. Until I purchased two new shades which I really love. This product is not as popular as MAC, Wet n Wild etc but it is very affordable, I got mine 500Naira in one of Lagos most popular markets, Balogun in Nigeria.

Thank Me Later...

Girlies!!! be honest. What would you do if you found out that your precious Brazilian, Mongolian, Peruvian, Cambodian, European, Fumi, Remy and what not was actually made of goat hair??? hehehe Its no longer news that many of these weaves, wigs and hair extensions are got from China. It is big business over there but what we don't know is that a large quantity of these weaves are mixed with goat hair.

My take on 'The Bird Woman' Tale.

I was on my own when I got these funny mails of a bird that turned to a woman in broad daylight. I mean, this only happens on nkan mbe and the like but hey, they say it happened for real and here is what I gathered. Some eyewitnesses claim a mysterious bird was flying around Cappa Bus Stop, Oshodi, Lagos when suddenly it crashed into high tension wires, dropped to the ground and immediately turned to woman whose body was severely burnt. One of Nigeria's foremost newspaper, Punch reported that when its correspondent visited the area, a policeman at the junction said the woman was coming from Agbado Ijaiye area of Lagos, and was heading to her husband's place in Mushin, also in Lagos. He added that the woman claimed she has magical powers and had killed a lot of people. She was returning to her husband's place before the incident. After all said and done, my question is WHERE IS THE PICTURE OF THE BIRD?  What do you think? SOURCES: ( PUNCH )
