#MyHustle: Rexx

I know #MyHustle is coming to you late this week but this girl had her own hustle going on too. 
This week its @rexxuberfresh. I personally call him Captain and he loves it. 



"Music is my main hustle. My OAP job is well a job and as much as I enjoy doing it, music is the bigger picture.
I draw my inspiration from creative minds that have added value to our world either by solving a problem or adding aesthetics in the form of art. People like Michael Jackson, R.Kelly, Tuface, Steve Jobs etc.
People should look out for great music and performances from Rexx".




Rexx is young, vibrant and devoted to creatively expressing his innate talents in ways that establish him as a tour de force in the Nigerian music scene. He is quite versatile and full of energy as he combines being a singer, songwriter and musical virtuoso with being a radio On-Air Personality. His roots are in Anambra state, Nigeria and he was raised in Lagos and Enugu.

His official foray into professional recording is highlighted with his debut album as a lead singer for the duo Pincode, the album titled Pincode for president [2009] spawned the runaway hit single “Pincode” that garnered massive acceptance locally and across a host of francophone African countries.  As a solo recording artiste, he has  worked with Brymo, Solidstar and Orezi and featured on various album projects like Jesse Jagz: Royal Niger Company, Zeus [Album: Afrikan Time], Slimbrown [Album: For S.A.L.E.]



Rexx is consistently working and creating lyrics that dazzle his ever-increasing fan-base. 'Sistah' is his latest single which features Orezi and Solidstar, currently playing on your favourite radio station and the visuals will be out soon as a video has been shot. His 'Urban African' sound reflects his exposure to genres spanning Hip hop, Dancehall, R&B from artistes like Bob Marley, R.Kelly, Usher,Tuface and Craig David and 80’s high life bands from Peacock band, Nico Nbarga, Oliver D’Coque and Rex Lawson. He's been quoted as saying, “My music taste accommodates a lot of soulful creative expressions that appeal to the heart”.

Game or Simply Lame

I was having one of my chitchat moments with a close friend and the topic 'Standards' was raised. It was then I realized that many dating couples have too high standards they expect of each other thus many single people or broken marriages. Everyone has standards,they keeps us motivated to do our best, but often times these standards cause undue stress. Some often impose their standards on their loved ones; this is a new source of stress and frustration for partners who feel they cannot meet these expectations. I'm not saying standards are not good or unhealthy in relationship, I only think it shouldn't determine how much or how far the relationship should go. It also shouldn't be a criterium to determine if the relationship will lead to marriage but then again who is to blame? The partner with unattainable standards or the one who isn't truthful to him or herself and believes these standards can be reached.
